hey folks!
dragon debris (the folks who brought you such gems as bollywood, japanorama, la dolce vita and azteca) is going to be presenting "the garden of de-lights" this year-inspired by our sister project, luminous passage and bosch's masterpiece tryptych, "the garden of earthly delights."
we'll have our annual party on tuesday night (djs probably covered for that but i'll keep everyone posted), but there are open slots all week for those interested.
the equipment will include 2 gemini cdjs and the new numark idj2 (www.youtube.com/watch which is pretty much the latest in dj technology. i'm not bringing the technic 1200s to the playa anymore as i'm totally over having the wind slide the tone arm across the records or having the records completely blow away,
so if any of y'all are interested, please contact me off list and let me know
a) when you'd like to spin
b) what medium you like (can do both at once)
c) what sort of stuf you'd like to play
d) what sort of experience you've got
looking forward to working with you guys. see you on the playa!

Re: call for djs
Sun, August 2, 2009 - 4:08 PMI'd be happy to bring a book of CDs and an iPod. I'm sure I can pick up that idj2 system pretty quickly if someone just shows me the basics earlier on.
I've been deejaying since 1991. One of my San Francisco clubs won Best of the Bay Gaurdian and a Whammies (SF Weekly readers' choice) award, it was called JUNK. These days I generally spin parties and events but am not promoting events at the moment.
My style is eclectic and very upbeat (unless it's a chill set or hiphop set) and I can focus in one genre or move around the globe.
As for when I'd be available to spin, let me get back to you on that - gotta check in with the ladies of Beaverton about their scheduled events. But I think my schedule is going to be very flexible.
