Anyone do a marriage camp where you can have any kind of marriage you want including marrying your dog (the fundies big fear being if the gays can get married, then marrying your dog is only a short distance away).

other queer american dreams?

Our group from Seattle is bouncing around the idea of a breakfast camp, where the great American Dream is Bacon \ Eggs \ Toast for breakfast. That in place we can use all kinds of pig motifs to support the bacon aspect and our tag line will be something like "men are pigs -- eat more bacon"

Our theme for this year is "Our Gay American Dream" and we'll be planning and organizing the first ever Gay Pride Parade at BRC! On early wednesday morning, gathering every gay person in BRC to March on the Esplanade and Temple to show our spirit and community and how big we really are at Burning Man 2008!
Our Tribe will be up before the end of the week for more info. Moonbow CampTribe.
    See you on the playa!

Hmm...I hate to rain on your parade but strangely enough a playa pride parade doesn't generate much excitement to me. I think it's because there are so many other facets of being human that get celebrated on the playa -- evocative dreams, powerful visions, insane engineering, fun & furry craftmanship, etc, that simply celebrating our sexual attraction, per se, isn't that special.

I think that's why the Queer Prom was so much fun 2 years ago...it was basically a "pride" event, but it didn't try to take itself too seriously and it was a gathering, instead of a demonstration.

Are you dead-set on a pride parade, or are you open to alternatives?

      furry hugs

The World Naked Bike ride is Wednesday morning (Burn-week) around 11 am, meeting at the Man and roaming around the Playa Bar/Camp hopping and is the closest thing to a Pride Parade I've experienced on the Playa. Most of the Guys are queer and Comfort and Joy tends to be my favorite stop along the way. A hybrid of the two events could be... "Dreamy." Cheers Queers!

Hmmm.... since americans are so sexually repressed, perhaps sex (of any kind) is part of the american dream...? A "sex" celebratory parade, or a "rainbow" parade that celebrates complete diversity (gay, straight, tranny, vanilla, etc) would be much more radically inclusive. Or a metrosexual workshop -- where we could all do a "queer eye for a straight guy or gal" would be lots of fun.

        just some thoughts

    It's a go!
As in the American Dream were open to everyone, gay and straight who would want to express their freedom, friendship and support, especially playawear and creativity openly! Not really a political statement, but to Basically show BRC that were here and Queer! Let's get out of the closet tent and show them really something! See you at Moonbow Camp on Wednesday 27, 2008 at 830am to lineup and 9am to Parade! If you see us pass by, join in!
